We are building a green value chain

In all decisions, we will think beyond ourselves, think circular, and contribute to responsible initiatives for sustainable food production. This is reflected in our work throughout the entire value chain.

This year's achievements

In 2024, we reduced emissions by 5.5 percent.

Here's how we did it:

Bilde

Chicken feed

Chicken feed with a lower climate footprint

Bilde

Packaging

Increased proportion of recycled material in packaging

Bilde

Farms

Increased share of renewable energy on the farms

Bilde

Transport

Increased use of renewable fuel in animal transport

Bilde

Chicken manure

With the new hatchery, we need fewer chickens to produce the same amount of meat, resulting in less manure

Hatchery

Technological solutions in the new hatchery

Bilde

Spices

Reduced amount of spices on grilled products

The path to lower emissions

2024 was another year marked by growth. We have ambitions to continue growing, and in the coming years, we will produce even more food. That means we need more farmhouses, more feed, and more energy, to name a few. For chicken to truly earn its place on the future menu, we must think innovatively and holistically.

Ambitious development work

– At Norsk Kylling, responsibility is an integral part of our strategy. When responsibility is woven into every decision, the entire organisation pulls in the same direction. We have come far but still have a way to go. That’s why we will continue working to reduce emissions — from farm to fork. We will also get even better at harnessing the fantastic opportunities within the value chain. Through collaboration and innovation, we are building an increasingly sustainable business that will deliver chicken for many years to come.

The food production of the future must be both responsible and ambitious. We prove that growth, good animal welfare, and lower emissions can go hand in hand.
