The farmer is our partner

At Norsk Kylling, we work with dedicated and responsible farmers who produce safe and high-quality food every single day. We are proud to collaborate with 142 skilled farmers in Central Norway, and we take great pride in the results we achieve together.
Good Farmer welfare is essential for a future-oriented agriculture. A workday with safe working conditions, financial predictability, and open dialogue is key to enabling farmers to operate sustainably and with a long-term perspective.
Our farmers work closely with the Animal Welfare Department. Together, we have developed best practice guidelines for on-farm operations, as well as a system for data collection and analysis to support continuous improvement.

The collaboration in numbers
- 10 veterinarians and 3 producer advisors/contact persons follow up with farmers and animals. - We collaborate with 142 farmers involved in broiler, rearing, and hatching egg production. - Value creation on farms across 20 municipalities in Central Norway.
New farmers
In 2024, we welcomed several skilled farmers to our team — crucial for supporting our growth ambitions. These farmers were affected by Nortura’s decision to discontinue chicken production in Trøndelag. The transition to Norsk Kylling led to all farms upgrading their operations to meet the ECC (European Chicken Commitment) standard. In this way, we ensure continued production with improved animal welfare on the farms.

The transition to Norsk Kylling was a lifeline for us, providing both a safer and simpler everyday life. We now have a standard that puts animal welfare first while also raising operational quality.
